Below are a couple of sample itineraries that have proved popular in the past....

Jems of Jordan
day 1 - fly to Amman Queen Alia airport. Almost all flights arrive around midnight when you will be greeted by your Jordanian guide. Transfer to your 3 star hotel in Amman.
day 2 - after breakfast, your guide will drive you north to Jaresh for a half day to discover this Roman city of the Decapolis. In the afternoon your guide will drive to the Dead Sea for your unique experience of truly floating gently on the silky surface. Second night at 3 star hotel in Amman
day 3 - you drive south by both the Desert and King's highways to visit Karak Castle. Arrival in Petra will be early enough for you to perhaps enjoy a short walk that we recommend for a view of both the mountains of Petra and Jabel Aaron. Here, perched on a summit, is the shrine to the brother of Moses. All this before an excellent buffet at your well positioned 3 star hotel.
day 4 - after breakfast your guide will collect you for a full day's exploration of the temples, tombs and astounding architecture of Petra. Second night at Petra hotel with dinner included once more.
day 5 - a very early start tot he day takes you over the mountains with stupendous views form the Ras an Naqab down to the true desert. This is the land of Lawrence and you will shortly arrive in the village of Rum to be met by our Bedouin guides. You will ride camels before riding a jeep deep into the wilderness to discover another world. Lunch will be a desert feast in a setting such as you will not have experienced before. The setting sun will herald an end to your adventure as you rejoin your driver for the hour's drive to Aqaba. Dinner is included in your 3 star hotel.
day 6 - the day is free but we suggest a day at the Royal Jordanian Diving School where coral and fish create a magnificent contrast to the desert. Equipment for snorkelling may be hired but no diving can take place in the 24 hours before your flight departs. Evening is when Aqaba comes to life and this is your time to shop!  A night at your hotel, with dinner included.
day 7- your guide will collect you for the drive to Queen Alia airport and onward travel home.
Cost, based on 2 or more for Jems of Jordan is £465 per person. Discounts are given for groups of between 4 and 8
Not included - air fares; some meals; entry to sites. In total, these costs will amount to approximately £350 per person from the UK.
 
 

Footsteps of Lawrence - Desert Safari
day 1 - fly to Amman Queen Alia airport. Almost all flights arrive around midnight when you will be greeted by your Jordanian guide. Transfer to your 3 star hotel in Amman.
day 2 - an early breakfast and departure will allow a full day of travel and discovery. Drive to the Dead Sea for the unique experience of floating on the waters of the world's lowest point. Continue to Wadi Mousa, entry point for Petra, and settle into your comfortable 2 star hotel where an excellent buffet dinner will be served.
day 3 - a full day trekking and exploring in Petra. second night at your hotel with dinner included.
day 4 - an early departure for fabulous views for the Ras al Naqab and then on to Wadi Rum. You will be welcomed by Salim Sabah, our chief guide in Rum who will be your host for the next three days. Lunch at the Sabah home before you start your safari. Night camping in the desert.
day 5 - drive south across the desert by jeep towards the Saudi border. Depending on your own ambitions there are a number of treks and spectacular scrambles that can be made en route to your base camp. Night under the stars.
day 6 - from your desert base camp, ascend Jabal Um Adaami which, at 1,839 metres, is Jordan's highest peak. The climb is non-technical with some scrambling which results in stunning views over the rocky peaks of northern Saudi that seem to stretch to infinity. Far to the west may be glimpsed the turquoise waters of the Red Sea, beyond which the peaks and hills of Sinai rise in the distance. Return to Rum village by evening to be collected by your driver for return to Amman.
day 7 - departure for Queen Alia airport and travel home.
Tents and sleeping bags are not provided, however sleeping mats are. ON making a reservation, a kit list is provided.

Not included - air fares, 2 lunches / picnics, 1 dinner, site entry fees. In total the costs of these will amount to approximately £320 per person.

NOTES
Jordanian visas may be purchased on arrival (2 weeks). Currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JD) - also obtained on arrival. Jordan is 2 hors ahead of the UK
